“The Wedding,” by Nicolas Sparks is a great read. Wilson Lewis feels as if his wife is falling out of love with him. Wilson has to find a way to make his lovely wife Jane, fall back in love with him. Wilson struggles because; he is the type of man who has a hard time expressing the way he feels to people. Also his oldest daughter is planning on getting married which helps Wilson reel his wife back into his arms. In the end, Jane and Wilson find that love and there is a big surprise in the last two chapters.
It is a great book and a true romance novel. The surprise twist in the ending will make you want to read more. It will leave you in anticipation not knowing what will happen next. “The Wedding” is the long awaited sequel to “The Notebook.” It is a book that will make you think, cry, and maybe even laugh. Nicolas Sparks is a great writer and I would recommend any of his books to you, so the next time you are in the library pick up one of his books. Review by Amanda May
“Lovely Bones,” by Alice Sebold is a must read. It tells the story of a fourteen-year-old girl named Susie Salmon. Susie is murdered by one of her neighbors named Mr. Harvey and he actually gets away with it because he disposes of her body in a marsh. People think that Susie has just been kidnapped but later they find her elbow. When her parents find this out they are devastated. Everyone mourns Susie and her family is determined to find her killer, especially her father. Mr. Harvey is eventually arrested for Susie murder, thanks to DNA evidence.
You are in for a surprise at the end of this book. It will keep you on the edge of your seat and you will not want to stop reading. Susie explores what it like to die and what its like to be in heaven. This book is about love, memory, joy, heaven, and healing. It is actually funny and some times sad. Alice Sebold is a great writer and if you would like to read some of her other books you should read “Lucky” which is memoir of Alice’s freshman year of college. “Lucky” has some mature content dealing with violence so be aware of this before you check out the book. “Lovely Bones” is a really a great book and I would suggest you read both!
