2023 Graduate Information
May 2nd / 6:30 p.m. - In-person Senior Awards Night - Not everyone will receive awards but everyone is welcome. Dress nicely, this is a formal awards ceremony. The Senior video is shared this evening! Senior Awards Night will last about an hour to 1.5 hours and will be in the auditorium.
May 6th / 7p - 10 p.m. - Prom (A Night Under the Stars) - Tickets are available at school only until May 5th. Prom is at The Ridge View Barn in Kent City. See Mr. Weiss or Mrs. Kmiecik to buy a ticket (outside of class time). Tickets are $40 this week (April 17 - 21) and will go up $5 each week leading up to prom. You must have a guest pass for non-SHS junior and senior students, if you would like to bring a guest. All guests must arrive and leave with their SHS Junior or Senior. Pick up a guest application from Mrs. Rollston in the office if needed.
May 12th / 11:30 a.m. - Senior Checkout - Bring all your materials (books, Chromebook, case, charger) as well as money for any fines you may still have. This will take 60 - 90 minutes. There will be an ice cream truck with sweet treats for all of our seniors after you complete your check-out. Check your email for details from Mrs. Rumsey.
May 17th / 5:45 p.m. - Parade of Graduates - Decorate your car, wear your cap and gown and join the parade! The parade starts in the SHS parking lot, so senior participants should be at SHS no later than 5:45 p.m. to line up. Students may ride together if they prefer but all students in the backs of pickup trucks must be in chairs. Safety first!! The parade starts at 6:30 p.m.
May 24th / 1 p.m. - GRADUATION PRACTICE - You MUST be at practice in order to participate in our graduation ceremony on the 25th. Ask off of work NOW. It will start at 1 p.m. and will take about 90 minutes. You do not need to bring anything with you for practice. Mrs. Rumsey will share will run through all things related to the ceremony on this practice date. Check your SHS email for details.
May 25th / 5:45 p.m. - Graduation - Report to Spartan Field for graduation at 5:45 p.m. The gates will also open at 5:45 p.m. for your family and friends (no tickets needed). Graduation starts promptly at 6:30 p.m. There will be a Livestream for any family members who are not able to join us in-person. If the weather for the week looks cold or rainy, we will move the graduation ceremony to the gym. Bash will follow graduation on May 25th. Buses will leave from the front of Spartan Stadium for those attending.
