Independence Day
It's the 4th of July. Christopher is visiting Michigan for his 2nd time. The weather couldn't be any more perfect. The wind is calm, the sun is out and we have clear skies. The family and I are all going up to St. Ignace. Christopher has never seen Lake Michigan or the beach so he was really excited about this trip. The whole ride Christopher was like, "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" and on top of that he was so excited his adrenalin was pumping. He was grinning from ear to ear.
We rented a room that was on the beach so Chris could play for hours in the sand and in lake Michigan. The first thing we did was put on our suits and go swimming to drain some of the adrenalin out of Chris. Once we settled into our room the back sliding door flew open and Chris took a deep breath of joy and ran to feel the sand between his toes. The adrenaline that we tried to drain was back in no time at all. He began tossing the sand into the air and spinning circles. Everyone else joined in on the fun. We had a riot playing WWF championship wrestlers. Christopher even got a taste of the beach when his face was pushed to the sand. Later that night we pulled out our camping chairs and watched fireworks on the beach coming from the islands. That night we enjoyed everything but the mosquitoes.
Where are we going? .....St. Ignace
