Central Elementary School serves about 465 students in grades Young 5’s, Kindergarten, Transitional First grade and First grade, in Sparta, Michigan. The building is home to all of Sparta's students in these grades. Currently for 2007-2008 we have the following sections and student numbers in our assignments:

Central Elementary offers both half day and all day/alternate day kindergarten programs. Tuition childcare is also available for kindergartners when they are not in school at WECC at 887-7123.

The staff at Central Elementary are known as leaders in early literacy. The emphasis in these grades is on establishing a strong foundation in reading strategies and a love of learning in a safe, orderly and caring environment.
