Appleview Elementary Mission Statement:

We, the Appleview staff, are committed to join in partnership with students, families, and the community to ensure that the learning environment at Appleview will be child centered and healthy. Students will be challenged to become productive and responsible citizens who function academically, emotionally, socially and physically in a changing world. Our staff will encourage and promote an educational environment which values hard work, respect, responsibility and life-long learning. Each day, our mission will be to facilitate, support, and challenge all students to achieve their highest potential

Appleview 2011-12 School Improvement Goal:

All students at Appleview Elementary will be proficient in reading, writing, math, science and social studies.

Subgroup focus areas:

·         Special education/students with disabilities

·         Title I/At Risk student/Economically Disadvantaged students

·         English Language Learners (ELL)

·         Increasing the number of students scoring "Advanced" on the Mathematics, Reading and Writing MEAP

Below is a summary of student performance on the Fall 2010 MEAP assessment. Scores reflect the percentage of students at each grade level that scored at or above proficient according to standards set by the state of Michigan.
